We live in denial that the resource that sustains life is not in infinite supply. Water shortage has been with us for decades, even in the developed world, yet we continue to waste it on power washing cars and drives (500 litres an hour), few gardeners use grey water (washing up water) on their plants etc.. Cape Town recently came very close to running out of water altogether. California has suffered more than five years of drought. London is drier than Istanbul, and the Environment Agency’s own data shows that the water courses of South East England are drier than parts of North Africa. Dry The Life.

about

Dry The Life is a song about world water shortage and the mismanagement of this vital resource by large corporations.

lyrics

DRY THE LIFE

You can dry the life out of me
And you can ta ke the salt from the sea
But I’m thirsty till the rain
Comes back to me again
You can dry the life out of me

You can pour your poison in the well
You can signal danger with a bell
But I’m thirsty till it’s full
Among the cattle skulls
While you pour your poison in the well

You can dry the life out of me
And you can take the salt from the sea
But I’m thirsty till the rain
Comes back to me again
You can dry the life out of me

You could make it safe for the one in ten
You could bring good health to their children
So when you cash your shares
And turn the tap upstairs
Think about the danger you put them in

You can dry the life out of me
You can take the salt from the sea
I’m thirsty till the rain
Comes back to me again
You can dry the life out of me
